I'm Sr. Marie DiLorenzo, the Principal of Sacred Heart, and I'm pleased that you could join us for a tour of our exceptional elementary school.
Sacred Heart is a faith-based school, founded and sponsored by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish of Rockaway, and a part of the Paterson Diocese School System. We offer Pre-K, Full Day Kindergarten and First through Eighth Grade classes.
Our school is based on a Love of Children and a commitment to partnering with parents to prepare our children, both academically and morally, to face the challenges of daily life in a constantly changing world.
With a stable, highly educated and credentialed staff of teachers and administrators, we provide our children with a well-rounded educational experience through the use of intellectual stimulation, technological tools and artistic expressions. In addition to the basic core academic curriculum, we provide special programs such as computer, music and art classes to all K-8 students.
Sacred Heart School is proud to be the recipient of several prestigious rewards and recognitions. We are an AdvancED Accredited School; we are designated a STAR School for our reading program; and we've received Best Practice Awards from the Diocese of Paterson for our peer mentoring program, career day and parent survey activities.
As I noted earlier, Sacred Heart School is based on a Love of Children, fostered in a Christian environment. We support the family by assisting in development of strong character in our children focusing on the values of respect, integrity, trust, compassion, social responsibility and fairness. We are guided by the Catholic Doctrine, yet embrace families of all denominations. Our mission is to provide your child with the academic and moral foundation to flourish in their high school, college and adult lives.
